About Us
Wellington Traffic Control ( WTC), is a privately NZ owned and operated Traffic Management Company, servicing the Wellington region.
The company was formed in 2023 by James Fruean, who had a vision for creating safer, smarter traffic management through innovative and up to date strategies.

Whether you’re an experienced leader or just starting out, we have opportunities to grow your career in Temporary Traffic Management (TTM).

🚧 About the Role
STMS – Lead with Confidence
As an STMS, you’ll take charge of crews across a variety of TTM sites. You’ll ensure safe, compliant, and efficient operations while working closely with internal teams and external clients. This role is central to our transition from CoPTTM to NZGTTM, New Zealand’s risk-based approach to temporary traffic management.


🎯 What You’ll Bring
STMS
  • Current STMS CAT A qualification (CAT B preferable)
  • Full Class 1 licence (Class 2 an advantage – training support available)
  • Confidence using smartphones/tablets
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A proactive approach to health and safety

Traffic Management Operative – Practising (TMO-P) – Start Your Career in TTM
If you enjoy working outdoors, value safety, and want a hands-on role with real career progression, our TMO position is an excellent entry point into the roading industry. Full training and development are provided.
Please note: All traffic management roles operate on a rotating on-call roster.
